Women-only study
The book itself is beautiful and the content is biblical and understandable. The intro tells you about the author if you have never done one of her studies before - that is the boat I am in! I scratched off the code in the back to access the videos but am viewing them in a group and doing the day to day study at home. You will dig deep into scripture, not just in the book of Amos which shows how each book of the Bible corroborates others. I have found good instruction for my place in life. There are 5 days to do each week apart from my group. She makes good connections to your life. These are all the positives. Where improvement can be made is in the editing of future editions. There is no way no how enough room to write in your answers. Note to editors - a person’s handwriting is larger and more spread out than type! The tables to write info are awfully small and sometimes even the space to write in a word are only as tall as the line of 10 point font. The author constantly refers to her readers as women (girl, girlfriend, sister, sister girl, etc) so this is strictly a study written for women. It is edited by Lifeway Women and Ms. Rothschild leads women’s conferences as a page in the book promotes. Otherwise, it could be applied to all adults if written in a more inclusive to men way, as all books of the Bible are written for all people! By the middle of the first week, her little jokes about Famous Amos Cookies were overdone. It is obvious she is not eating them by the handful (she is a beautiful slender woman!) and the mature women this study seems to be written for probably aren’t going to be all excited about chocolate chip cookies either. I hope I have read the last about the cookies and get more into the meat of Amos!
