This 2018 Oversized Hardcover (OHC) edition is the replacement of the old 2012 Trade Paperback (TPB), and features more than double the content (832 pages versus the old 408). This is the definitive collection of content from the period surrounding the wedding of Cyclops & Phoenix, as it FINALLY collects adjectiveless X-Men (Vol. 2, 1991) issues #31 - 35, which had been orphaned issues for the longest time and had never been collected until now! Marvel also decided to get rid of the subpar X-Men Annual #2 from the 2012 TPB and replaced it with much more important stories that actually pertain to the events in this collection: Adventures of Cyclops & Phoenix limited series (#1 - 4), Cable # 6 - 8 (a story of Cyclops, Phoenix, and Cable), and the entire Bloodties crossover with the Avengers (making previous Bloodties releases now obsolete!).
This OHC does precisely what it sent out to do: Replace the old Wedding of Cyclops & Phoenix TPB, and add more content to the point where it fits in PERFECTLY between the Fatal Attractions OHC and Phalanx Covenant OHC -- this was the collection X-Men collectors have been waiting for to fill the gap between those two crossover collections and collect previously orphaned single issues.
The spine looks great and fits in perfectly with the other two OHC that come before and after this collection, those being the Fatal Attractions and Phalanx Covenant OHCs. All three have the big red MARVEL section at the top of the spines.
Excellent 90's art mostly provided by Andy Kubert (X-Men), John Romita Jr. (his 2nd run on Uncanny X-Men), Ian Churchill (Uncanny X-Men Annual #18 -- he would later go on to pencil the Cable series), and the underrated Gene Ha (Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix). You actually get some nice stories here - some low key, allowing the X-Men to actually relax a bit for the wedding, but also plenty of action, since, you know... they're super heroes and all. As far as 90's X-Scribes go, Fabian Nicieza and Scott Lobdell do not disappoint. This is mandatory for any X-Men collector.

This is a collection of stories including Bloodties and leads up to the Phalanx Covenant (which is collected elsewhere). It’s been fantastic to read these much overlooked stories - coming as they are after the X-cutioner’s song and before Age of Apocalypse. Andy Kubert’s artwork is still fantastic.
A collection that every X-fan should have and not just for nostalgia.
