The pages are in random orders and looks like it’s cheaply put together. Brand new book waste of money. Stick to Barnes and Noble for book buying or some places else. 2nd time on Amazon I got a messed up new book. SMH should actually get negative stars

This is a comprehensive nonfiction book that gives the casual history buff a myriad of facts, dates, and interesting anecdotes of ancient history as well as the religions, daily life, and myths of the ancient peoples that lived around the Mediterranean sea.

There are lots of references to other author's works, so something that really interests the reader can be followed up with in depth reading on the subject or time period.

There is so much here, it should maybe have been put into a series of books 📚.

Some of the most interesting parts of the section about ancient Egypt was the building of the great pyramid, or Khufu's pyramid. How is was laid out, who the architect and builder was. How long it took to build and the number of likely conscripted workers needed. Was it a monument to this 👑King or was it a burial crypt? Khufu's body has never been found, so that question is unanswered.

Great book! Great reference book!

This collection of early civilization stories, myths, and histories makes learning accessible for all ages. It is fun and informative without being intimidating like other similar books can be. We have enjoyed reading this to our kids and look forward to what this author releases next.

First off my copy starts on page 19. No table of contents, no title pages, no publisher information; just straight to a random sentence about Egypt. The madness continues with the font size and the numerous massive gaps between paragraphs which are one or two sentences long throughout the book. Spelling errors add to the feeling that I'm not reading a work by a researcher but a student giving a report for a class. Finally the bibliography cites Wikipedia on multiple occasions, and while that isn't itself an issue it does mean that the writer decided not to check the primary sources and just used the condensed information that was easiest to find. All of these factors make it difficult for me to take it seriously or to recommend anyone put money down on this. Bottom line: if you're interested in the history of any of the cultures in this book you're better off checking out work by historians that put their names on their books.

The book is well put together and informative, but the narrator leaves much to be desired. His cadence is strange, he misprounouces words (a book on Egypt wherein the narrator can't pronounce PAPYRUS??? Really?) And adds the odd "e" into random multi-syllabic words...
The book is good. The narrator is insufferable.
