Three houses of similar design were originally constructed in 1832 CE at the Te Waimate Mission in the Bay of Islands, New Zealand. Only one house remains on site. This is the open fireplace in one of the two main rooms on either side of a central entrance hall in that mission house. This photo was taken in November 2019.
