The Abduction by Paul Cezanne, 1867 CE. This painting is thought to depict Hercules rescuing Alcestis from the underworld. (Another theory is that this represents the abduction of Proserpine by Pluto. This painting was painted in Emile Zola's house and was first owned by him. Now in the Sammlung Keynes Collection, Great Britain)
