Muskox grazing on the tundra in Cape Krusenstern National Monument, northern Alaska. They have lived in northern Alaska since the Ice Age, once grazing alongside wooly mammoths and steppe bison. As the climate warmed, the muskox moved north and now are limited to Alaska, northern Canada and Greenland.
