Pegasus, a mythical winged divine stallion, was a prominent creature in the Greek mythology. This marble capital depicts Pegasus. First half of the 6th century CE. Possibly from Kathisma, Hippodrome, Sultanahmet, in modern-day Turkey. (Museum of Archaeology, Istanbul, Turkey).
