The Bodhisattva is the central figure of Mahayana Buddhism. He has attained a high spiritual level but he differs his enlightenment to help other men on the spiritual path. Here we see a representation of Guanyin (Avalokitesvara in Sanskrit), the bodhisattva of compassion.
