Biography

May GahAllah May Gah Allah is the Founder & Managing Director of Kounouz Nubia Foundation, PFP Fellow (The Professional Fellows Program).

May's career was enriched by working in different fields and prominent positions, including economic empowerment and social businesses, in addition to assisting peace-building organizations for women. She additionally worked on gender-based initiatives and Nile-wide projects with national and international organizations. Her last position was in the banking sector, handling compliance in the Middle East and North Africa for The Bank of New York Mellon. Today, she oversees the Konouz Nubia Foundation in Aswan & Cairo, Egypt.

Konouz Nubia foundation is a non-profit foundation, which aims to empower the people of the Nubian community. It strives to enhance their skills by providing opportunities for a non-formal education. It furthermore empowers Nubians economically through local production projects, using Nubian heritage to create new horizons for sustainable development. These projects help the Nubian community rediscover and protect their heritage, while also fostering the bond between the native people and their land.
