This twisted torc is one of four Stirling Hoard torcs discovered in Stirlingshire, Scotland in 2009. The torcs had been buried shallowly in a Roundhouse near current day Blair Drummond. It is unclear whether they were buried as an offering or the hidden spoils of war,
Dated to between 300 – 100 BCE, this style of torc is representative of the Scottish and Irish styles of the Late Bronze Age. It is designed from a single ribbon of gold twisted to create this unique effect with disc terminals.
